- Questions & Answers
We invite you to read RP and battles and see what we're about.
You can also talk to other players - they can help you get a feel for the community and for the game. You can meet people by posting an introduction in the aptly named Introductions forum.
Zoids - the animal-like mecha - have defined the history of Arawn and Zi before it. Once, they were used as weapons of war; now, they are piloted by the elite and skilled few who dare to try to discover their ultimate potential as a person and as a warrior.
Your character will part of that elite - a Registered Zoid Pilot. Zoid Pilots fight in sacntioned zoid battles for the Zoids Battle Commission, seeking fame & fortune, seeking to unlock their ultimate potential or a thousand other reasons. Registered Pilots are also elite mercensaries, accepting contracts across the world, doing jobs no one else can - or will - do.
Your character is a person you are creating, complete with a history and relationships, joys and pains, defeats and triumphs - but no matter what they have done or what they will do, they will always remain a zoid pilot.
Every Registered Pilot is assumed to have completed the ZBC Basic Training Course or its equivalent. This is where the ZBC (or another organization) trains would-be Registered Pilots in the basic skills they need to know to survive as a Pilot and as a Mercenary.
APPLYING FOR A CHARACTER
The process of applying for a character is easy. All you do is create a character profile and then post it int he Drafts forum. Both players and staff will give you feedback and when you bio is ready, an Admin will post that you character has been accepted and you will be added to the ranks of Registered Pilots.
You can read through some character bios in the Accepted Bios to get some examples. The Equipment & Training Lists as also a good resource.
A few things to keep in mind here:
- Spelling & grammar count. Please have a friend read over it for you and make sure you run it through some kind of a spellcheck.
- Be reasonable and realistic about your character creation. No 5'1" 600lbs person is going to reasonably be a zoid pilot. The same for a 9-year-old or a 90-year-old.
- If you just can't
bring yourself to be reasonable or realistic, then be creative.

Characters also get an additional 5000 in funds to spend on starting equipment. This money must be spent on equipment after your character has been approved and any leftover funds simply vanish - they do not go into your main starting money. However, new characters can spend additional funds on equipment if they wish.
Characters purchase starting equipment the same way any character purchases equipment, with two differences: they need to state it is thier starting equipment purchase and they cannot buy any Advanced or Custom equipment.>

you can see, you can choose up to five additional Basic Skills for your character. These skills really can be anything, including decorating, painting, running - whatever you can think of. However, the Character Applications staff will have siginificant leeway in re-writing, denying or changing your optional skills to make sure the game stays balanced.
Some examples of other Basic skills are: Investigation, Stealth (sneaking about), Surveillance, Infiltration, Disguise, Thievery, etc. Basic Skills tend to be broad in scope and fairly generic.
You can choose two to take Advanced Training for up to two of your skills, even your optional Basic Skills. Advanced Training gives your character a professional level of ability with those skills.
Please refer to our Training Guide for more information on skills and training.
